I could ask you all to follow me, but maybe you shouldn't follow anyone, not blindly anyway.
The world is in a mess, and it could be blamed on leaders, but followers get the leaders they deserve, so it's the followers fault for electing bad leaders.
I don't elect anyone, because I don't agree with the system.
A better system is possible and I want to tell you about it.
Forget elections with winners and losers, let every candidate get elected, so we all win.
In countries like the UK each constituancy could have a number (say ten) of candidates, all of whom would expect to get from two or three votes to tens of thousands of votes depending how popular their ideas were.
No need for political parties to ensure you get elected, just stand on the merit of your ideas about how best to serve your region and your country (and the world).
Those that get elected would have to prove their worth so that each annual election day they would increase their votes and therefore their financial reward and their voting power.
The electorate would have ten votes (if there were ten candidates) so they could divide them any way they chose, and get paid a small sum for turning out and voting.
Each elected representative would only have a tenth (in the case of ten representatives) of the work to do and could hold down a full time job.
Ministers could be chosen from and by the representatives, including any prime minister or president.
This top person would be a mouthpiece with little real power, everything being decided by vote.
What do you all think?
